The Mayor shares how participating as a professional artist has given him the keys to the city, offering access to a variety of artists with different skill sets than himself, while CSUS offers a safe space to develop his artwork and truly understand his motive for creating. Both are valuable resources to the developing artist, but what happens when you have to prioritize your education over academia? The Mayor talks about taking your artistic development into your own hands because In the end, your art and your career within art, is completely self actualized
